Who We Are
The Key has been a community staple for over 50 years! It’s a unique partnership between 6 agencies wanting to provide a shared resource showcasing the many recreational and educational programs and services in Thunder Bay. The Key is overseen by a Joint Advertising Committee, comprised of the City of Thunder Bay, Confederation College, Conseil scolaire de district catholique des Aurores boréales, École publique de Thunder Bay (Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord), Lakehead Public Schools, and Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board. While JAC member programs are the focus, space is also provided for other community groups to advertise their programming.
Who is it for?
There is something for everyone in The Key! While parents and seniors are our most loyal readers, we also have lots of info for students, newcomers, and the general population looking for programs and activities in Thunder Bay.
Community standards/guidelines
Advertising in The Key is generally limited to community groups, educational institutions and non-profits organizations. Content submitted online will be reviewed for approval prior to going live. Limited ad space for businesses is also available for purchase.
Content will not be accepted from the following:
- organizations that promote/practice conversion therapy
- political parties or members
- election candidates
- tobacco, vaping, cannabis or pharmaceutical companies
