Day camp for campers aged 5-13, with a heavy focus on nature and outdoor activities out at Chippewa Park. Campers get to experience a variety of activities, games and crafts in the great outdoors!

Adventurers Camp

Adventurers Camp is a fun and inclusive day camp full of activities from crafts to karate and of course swimming, for kids ages 5 to 12!

Session Dates: 

Session 1 (9 day camp) – July 2 to 12
Session 2 – July 15 to 26
Session 3 (9 day camp) – July 29 to  August 9
Session 4 – August 12 – 23
Super Summer Send-Off – August 26-30

Fees:

2 week session: $303 first child, $258 additional children
1 week camp: $207 first child, $175 additional children
1 week camp (with Private Swimming Lessons): $291 first child, $254 additional children

TOTS Camp   *ALL 5 year olds (as of December 31, 2024) will register for this programThey will be with the same group and same instructor all day. The program will be 9am Crafts, 10am Imagination Station &11am Monkey Business. Any of these activities may be substituted for a swimming lesson.

Swimming Lessons at Adventurers Camp 2024 will be registered by waitlist! If you are interested in a swimming lesson as one of the 3 morning options please select the waitlist option and you will be contacted prior to your camp starting to confirm a spot if available.

Kidventures

Kidventures is a program for kids 5-12 at Prince Arthur’s Landing! Each camp has an art filled morning with a local artist and an adventured filled afternoon with tons of activities all over Prince Arthur’s Landing. Depending on the weather, each camp gets to go sailing with a trained Captain from Sail Superior. Check out what’s happening at Kidventures this summer. Registration is open!

Splashing Into Summer July 8-12 Let’s start summer off with a splash! From under the sea to it's a pirates life for me, this week has something for every camper!
Mickey's Magic July 15-19 Step into the magic of Kidventures this week! For this final week, we are calling forward all movie fanatics, drama kings and queens, Disney lovers or anyone who just loves to live in the moment and go with the flow!
Game On! July 22-26 Be prepared for an action-packed week as we put our athletic skills to the test! The staff will be coaching your kids to success as they compete in a variety of sports and playful crafts! Is there a sport superstar in the making? Game on!
Wild Wild West July 29-August 2 Howdy campers! Join us at Kidventures this week as we travel to the wild wild west. Join us from programming straight out of the old west.
Curious Minds & Creative Finds August 6-9 (4 Day Camp) This week is for Kidventures most creative campers! From science experiments to art attacks, this week will put our minds to the test!
Blast From The Past August 12-16 What a better way to end off summer than with a blast from the past! Break out the poodle skirts, or get ready for the disco. This groovy week will be full of rad activities for everyone!

Playgrounds Program

Ages 5-12

Playgrounds is a free, drop in program for children 5 (by the end of the year) to 12. Join us for crafts, games, activities, events, special guests!

Neighbourhood Recreation Program (NRP)

GRADES SK-6

Mondays – Thursdays

NRP is a free, inclusive registered recreation program for children offered in the City of Thunder Bay.

Join our staff after the bell for crafts, games, activities and sports, as well as a daily snack! NRP runs at the school’s dismissal and runs for two hours.

Our Leaders are trained in First Aid, the High Five principles of Healthy Childhood Development, Behaviour Management, Inclusion, and more.

Youth Programs

Youth Move

Youth Move Drop-In sites are year-round spaces where youth are free to stop by. Our Drop-In program features a variety of daily themes, such as Minute-To-Win-It, STEM, Art, Fitness, and Game-On!

We provide a snack each day, an opportunity to be active and activities that get youth socializing with other youth ages 10-18.

Special Events

Special Events occur at various locations around Thunder Bay. These include themed activities at our locations and outings with community partners (rock climbing, escape room, etc). These events must be registered for in advance by calling (807) 625-863 or going to Perfect Mind. Special events range in pricing from $0 – $25. How-To

Our How-To Program is a skill building program for youth. We provide multi-session events to help youth strengthen their skills in different areas such as: cooking, crocheting, painting, golf, etc. This program is offered on a designated weekday evening over a series of weeks. These events must be registered for in advance by calling (807) 625-8463 or going to Perfect Mind.

Facilitating the inclusion of Children & Youth with disabilities in the Recreation & Culture Division’s Programming

  • JIS support is FREE! (not including registration fees)
  • A site or virtual visit will be conducted prior to the start of support
  • To initially apply for JIS, complete a Participant Intake Form
  • Please contact us prior to registering for a program

PRO Kids' Family Pool Party

Make a splash at the PRO Kids’ Family Pool Party presented by Viterra!

For only $2 a person you can join us on Saturday June 22 at the Canada Games Complex from 1pm-4pm.

Here is some of what we have planned:

  • FREE BBQ with Hot Dogs, Snacks, and Refreshments
  • In Pool Games including Volleyball and Aqua Zumba
  • Pool Deck activities including Jumbo Jenga and Cornhole
  • Demonstration and fun with Thunder Bay Dive Club

Funds raised will help local kids access sport and recreation when families are unable to afford the fees!

It’s going to be an afternoon filled with swimming, music, and family fun!
